Before I say anything about the book it self I just want to express how very glad I am that I had seen the latest movie of Dorian Gray starring Ben Barnes, Ben Chaplin and Colin Firth, before I so much as looked at this book.

The opening scene made me feel I had dropped inside a moment in time. The narrative almost felt it was not even there, it seemed like it was the characters themselves that was moving the story forward. A very good indicator of a well written book, you can understand straight away why this story has stood the test of time and has become as what we term a classic.
