YouTube wants our opinions.

(A copy of what I’ve sent into the www.youtube.com feedback)

Do you really want honest opinions???

Ok here it is. Your changes to your site stinks. I can do better than this & I suck so bad at making web pages/sites. Start thinking about your users and stop trying to alienate them.

First what’s with all the white space???

Oh and the only good things I can see of the changes is that I can see from the home page how many channels I am subscribed to & the search function for those channels. That’s it.

– We still can’t delete videos from our feed once we’ve finished watching them. Neither do they automatically delete.

– None of the recommendations match anything we’ve ever watched.

– When we search for things in general, videos from years ago appear first and not the latest.

– I still don’t see the point of having contacts instead of YouTube friends, if I want to talk to people on YouTube I’ll message them via their wall or something. I want to see what they are watching.

– We can’t see our inbox on our main page.

– It doesn’t show auto subscriptions.

– Videos are not going to subscription boxes.

Look I’m all for change when change is for the better. But I don’t know anyone who is happy with the last two different major changes you have done to this web site. Why can’t you go back to when things worked?

(By the way if you agree with all or partly what I had to say please copy & paste. Don’t forget to edit it to add anything else you might want to add, and post it to the YouTube feedback which now appears at the bottom right hand side of the site when you log in. Thank you.)

Spreading The Lovell

Spreading The Lovell

It’s no secret that I’m an internet-a-holic, it is also no secret that I love the idea of YouTube (www.youtube.com) Even when it does not work properly because of glitches…because “they” keep changing it even though changes don’t need to be done. Though that is a rant for another day…

YouTube (www.youtube.com) is brilliant, it brings people together, it means you can “meet” people you would otherwise never have known existed. This is the main reason I enjoy spreading the Lovell.
Yes it gets my name in LoveJonLovells (http://www.youtube.com/user/LoveJonLovell) vlogs therefore people who would otherwise never have known I existed might watch my vlogs and subscribe to my channel. It is not however just about numbers and appearing in the videos however. (Though that is a bonus.) I enjoy not knowing where I’m going to be sent. I love that I can get to know someone new. See videos that can inspire and delight me.

For example I found LoveJonLovells (http://www.youtube.com/user/LoveJonLovell) vlogs via a recommendation when I was totally obsessed with the ShayTards. (http://www.youtube.com/user/shaytards) If it wasn’t for the interactivity I would not be watching Jons Vlogs today. I also wouldn’t be watching Simons aka StopJabbaingOn (http://www.youtube.com/user/STOPJABBAINGON) either.
Which to me I find quite odd as I kinda (not totally, I’m not insane) feel like they are part of my life. I also regard them as acquaintances, though we have never actually met. Thanks to treating the site as an interactive social media.

People are frequently forgetting that YouTube (www.youtub.com) is a social media website and I find that people are not communicating as much as they used to on there, which is a big shame.
This is why I believe in spreading the Lovell. It’s not just promotion for Jon and I to get more views, it’s not just a medal of honour that I get to be mentioned in his vlogs. It’s a friendly reminder to people to talk to each other. To visit one another channels and to spread positivity, the fact that we get the extra views and I get that mention for taking part is a Lovelly consequence.

                                             Spread the Love

LoveJonLovell or Voiceover Jon you have announced in your one year anniversary vlog entitled MY FIRST YEAR OF VLOGGING GIVEAWAY! Published on the 27th of January that you wish to give away a free t shirt, I would like that free t shirt for myself.

I am not in the habit of demanding and asking for stuff but you did mention that you wanted us to do something to draw attention to our want of your t shirt. So here goes.
I have for the past three days been tweeting (www.twitter.com) every celebrity that I follow saying: I’m spreading the lovell for @VoiceoverJon http://www.youtube.com/lovejonlovell Please RT to send him some lovell
I have had one re tweet from….wait for it: Simon Scholes aka STOPJABBAINGON http://www.youtube.com/user/STOPJABBAINGON yay!!! But I am not letting sucsess go to my head and I’m gonna keep with the twittering J

Also, I EmmaLouiseMarwood aka emarwood aka ok that’s all my aliases.
Have bought only last week your I’m spreading the LOVELL purple hoodie and I love it, but there is now one major problem. I have spent my clothing budget however I do need a t shirt to wear under it. Because what am I going to do when I get too warm I will be unable to take it off it would be totally inappropriate plus how then am I going to spread the Lovell?
See what I mean? Big problem.

There is also the thing that I have never won a thing in my life ever! True. Ok I once won a tenner on the national lottery when I first played…other than that I have never won anything.

So what do you think?

Have I won?

                                                    Fingers Crossed 2

Why?

Why is it then when you are at work all you can think about is sitting down at the computer to write. But when you have all day to do as you please you put it off and off then when you finally sit down to write you can’t think of a single thing to put down?

This happens to me all of the time. I have all the good intentions in the world, but I will just go and run into town to do a few errands. I’ll just do a quick vacuum, I’ll just quickly check my emails, oh and while I’m at it I’ll just see if Cory Mr Safety Williams /TristopiaTV /LukeisNotSexy /CharlieSoCoolLike /Nerimon etc has uploaded any new videos on www.youtube.com ….oh while I’m at it I might as well check www.twitter.co.uk and have I received my letter/email from www.pottermore.com nope. I’m hungry I’ll just go and eat something and watch tv while I do.

By the time I sit down the day is gone and I realise I have actually achieved absolutely nothing with my whole day.

You would think that in this day and age that people would know more and be more aware of how to make things more durable and last longer. You would also think that every company’s top priority would be customer satisfaction. But ever since we had this particular make of laptop in our lives (my mums and I that is) we have had nothing but trouble.

I have no idea why we didn’t learn that from the first laptop from them which we had for only a little more than a year before it suffered the blue screen of death and never came back. The customer service up to that point was shocking to say the least. But somehow and I don’t know why, we bought another one from them and not even six months down the line the thing has died on us twice. I have no idea how I managed to fix it. I guess I’m not one for defeat, I just kept pressing the power button until it loaded a fix it program.

I am now waiting to see how long it will take for the thing to die again. Will the next time be it? When will next time be? In seconds, minutes, days, weeks a month? When you have a growing addiction to the internet, an enjoyment of writing and what have you. When you also have a project that involves writing a script and down loading a bucket load of pictures from the internet; recording audio… (That will be credited by the way) for a www.youtube.com project. It doesn’t exactly give you confidence to do it.

I remember with the first laptop. I had completed two projects one video for www.youtube.com and a photo album through http://www.jessops.com/ I was in Italy at the time with no internet access. So I had saved all my work to upload the first moment I got the chance. Fast forward to Christmas Eve 2010 I went to do some writing on my diary I was keeping of our (again mum and I) stay in Italy for the six months we were there and……nothing.

Nada, it was gone. At first we had thought it was the battery (it had been showing signs) but nope. There was nothing to be done. We had problems with that laptop before that point and as I said earlier the customer service left a lot to be desired.

No I will not be sharing the companies’ name of said laptops. As I am aware that I could very probably get into a lot of trouble for naming names. Another thing that time, in my opinion should have put to bed a long time ago.

What a Day!

What a day yesterday was! What can I say? It started off so well with a lovely lie in, a beautiful bubble bath, breakfast made for me. What more can a girl ask for? It was lovely. So I thought I’d get on with a few jobs that I’ve been putting off. Studying for work and www.youtube.com for example, checking messages and friend invites and uploading one or two videos…so I started with www.youtube.com and that’s where it all went wrong…

The internet is a wonderful thing and full of interesting people. www.facebook.com , www.twitter.com , www.youtube.com ….whether you use them or not everyone has heard of them all. www.wordpress.com , www.blogtv.com all wonderful places to hang out on-line as will www.pottermore.com I’m sure, when I am finally welcomed in. (It feels like I’ve been waiting forever.)

But when things go wrong on a site it can mean disaster. Many a time has www.facebook.com and www.youtube.com for instance, have changed their formats much to the disappointment of their many users. But whatever the change however annoying on these sites could be coped with. By blocking them out or simply by ignoring them.
It’s another thing entirely when your password that you’ve been using for years no longer works for no apparent reason and there is no easy way to fix it.

I never got round to do any of my studying in the end.

I like being busy, I think it’s because it gives you a sense of purpose. No matter the task at hand, whether it’s cooking and baking. Making a vlog, taking photos, reading, writing it all mounts up to the same thing. I have a purpose in life, and it’s awesome. It especially helps when you enjoy everything that you have to do. Except for the house work, because let’s face it nobody in their right mind enjoys house work. Hovering, ironing and what not are a frustrating chore that if we chose do it first thing in the morning can be something that can be over and done with and we don’t need to waste another second of our precious day worrying about.

This I guess sounds like I’m making up some excuse for not writing a blog for the last two Sundays, but honestly it’s not. I just forgot. Plain and simple, I’ve been having fun.
Especially this week, I have just broken into the work of the Daily Vlog and it is awesome. Yes, I look and sound lame on camera…but learning to edit is so much fun. Finding material to record is hard work and so rewarding when I do.

Yes I know I hardly get any views but that’s alright, I don’t mind. I’m not doing this to become some kind of superstar. I’m not doing this to make money either, which is a good job because let’s face it I so wouldn’t be getting paid for what I have posted so far.
I’m doing this for fun plain and simple.

So many people forget about that element which is such a shame, because when it’s no longer fun it becomes work.

Bitten off More than I can chew

There are times when I have been accused of taking on too many projects at once. But I have never understood what the matter would be with doing that. It’s all in the name of fun anyhow. I mean learning to drive, going to the gym, writing lessons and learning to play the guitar alongside my full time job it was all in a week’s work.

Today, I am hoping to become a regular blogger and vlogger, which requires filming, editing and writing as well as a lot of research. As well as keeping up with my regular e mails, www.youtube.com subscriptions, www.facebook.comconnections and games; not forgetting of cause all the books I’ve got out from the library…all nine of them all bar two are textbooks.

One-A text book on how Microsoft Office 2010 works, two-guides on youtube and myspace. Another two on blogging two more on wicca and witchcraft, just for a bit of variety and the two fictions Dracula and Dracula the Undead. Just in case I haven’t got enough books around my house to keep me entertained.

Library 5

Not forgetting of cause the old job search.

Question

Don’t you guys just love it that as soon as you need the internet for a legitimate reason and not to just play on www.facebook.com and watch www.youtube.com videos that the ruddy thing will just stop working!?

Me I love it. Seriously I’m not kidding; I mean who wants to send that important e mail, who wants to be searching the World Wide Web for a job when they have no income coming in. It’s the bomb guys, the bomb.

Yes I’m sure you’ve figured me out for being sarcastic. Me sarcastic? Absolutely.
I’m telling you tech hates me. I love tech but if it will break or stop working it will happen to me every time. I have got through four yes 4 mp3’s in just as many years. My phone, my beautiful Nokia E71 constantly freezes on me, and the oven doesn’t even light some times when I want to use it. So annoying.

So the more dependant we are on something the more addicted we are to its services and the cleverer and cleverer it becomes it becomes more and more unreliable. Because that makes total sense right?
